Sierra Matchking bullets are legendary in the competition world and the new Tipped version will continue that legacy.  These bullets have proven to be the most accurate bullets out of both test rifles to date.  This round was brought to market on special request from a long time customer.  Gel tests indicate this bullet expands violently and creates a large permanent wound channel from about 1 or 2 inches to about 10 inches, while the bullet fragments and comes to rest at roughly 12 inches.  These same gel tests indicated at speeds less than 1260 fps the bullet was tumbling.  At speeds greater than 1,650 fps, the bullet was disrupting as it should.  At high velocity, the wound channel was simply larger, while depth of penetration remained about the same.

This round was designed to fit and funtction through bolt action rifles.  We did test this on our AR simply to get the short barrel velocity, however we are NOT using AR primers, so the risk of a slam fire exists.  These are NOT recommended for use in AR platforms.  We are using standard primers and not crimping the bullet.

We measure each powder charge to within +/- .02 grains on our Autotrickler powder systems. We seat each bullet with Redding competition seat dies on our Forster Co-Ax single stage press. We load them one at a time!  Each round is hand measured for consistency and placed into our hard plastic, twenty count boxes.  Each box has a foam insert and neoprene strap to keep your rounds secure in the field.  This is loaded ammunition.  Twenty (20) rounds per box.
